Internal Revenue Service jobs

The IRS exists on the authority of the Treasury secretary to administer and enforce the internal revenue laws, a power set out in Internal Revenue Code Section 7801, and the agency is organized to carry out those responsibilities. Its mission statement pairs two things that pull against each other: providing America's taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities, and enforcing the law with integrity and fairness to all. The agency publishes its own history timeline back to the 1700s.
