This position is located in the office of Human Resource Operations, Executive Resources Division The ideal candidate for this position will display a high-level of attention to detail. They will have strong written/verbal communication and customer service skills, and have a desire to improve day-to-day program delivery for the Executive Resources Division.

  • What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as an advisor on complex human resources processes and issues related to Executive Resources. Typical assignments include: Developing, revising, and implementing Executive Resources policies and process documents to incorporate newly issued or modified guidance from OPM, DHS, or elsewhere while proactively improving business processes within Executive Resources. Performing assignments for the Executive Resources Program in all functional areas to include position classification, staffing and recruitment, pay setting, performance management, and benefits and entitlements. Staying abreast of new and evolving laws, regulations, and policies within the area of Executive Resources. Providing authoritative advice, assistance, and guidance to customers, supervisors, and managers on problems and sensitive issues. What else do I need to know? At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
