Responsibilities 

  • You will provide technical and specialized professional and administrative duties for the Office of Human Resources, with an emphasis on payroll and time and leave.  
  • You will review and process actions and documentation as it relates to payroll and funding for positions.
  • You will review and audit payroll transactions and research payroll errors.
  • You will update records for exemptions, insurance, savings, deductions, and transfers.
  • You will assist with researching and providing information related to payroll-related inquiries.
  • You will assist with preparing various payroll reports.
  • You will properly maintain and retain documentation for payroll transactions and related duties in appropriate systems and assist with auditing.
  • You will serve as the point of contact to complete employment verifications, loan forgiveness documents, and wage levy requests.
  • You will perform a variety of other human resources functions, such as assisting with annual processes, FMLA, workers’ compensation, benefits, and supporting other Administration team members. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience.  
  • A combination of education, relevant training, and/or experience may be considered in substitution for the bachelor's degree upon approval by Human Resources.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree and prior experience working in a human resource setting and/or in a human resources program.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in human resources including work related to payroll processing, SCEIS data entry, and/or benefits.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources specifically related to payroll processing, SCEIS data entry, other HR related verifications and off cycle requests, and benefits. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work within established work flows with other management, staff, and employees.
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Strong customer service skills. 
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and other computer applications.  

Other Requirements

  • Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • Occasional work outside of normal office hours.
  • May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.  
  • Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
