The Technical Training Manager is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with relevant experience in one or more key areas such as training, safety, operations, engineering, and quality within Automotive, Aerospace, Aeronautics, Battery, or similar industries. This professional possesses a technical background with experience in training. Leverages technical knowledge & experience into the discovery, design, development, and delivery of training programs for technology-intensive manufacturing client companies. In addition, the Technical Training Manager provides informed recommendations concerning hands-on labs, physical layouts, industrial equipment specifications, hand tools, measuring instruments, curricula, facilitation techniques, and evaluation methodologies for technical training initiatives. Additionally, the Technical Training Manager also discovers, designs, develops, and delivers training for assigned projects within the readySC and the Division of Economic Development of the SC Technical College System including projects that are not predominantly technical in nature. Serves as an internal SME for Safety and spearheads the development of technical and safety instructors.
A bachelor's degree and relevant project management experience.
Ability to collaborate with companies, colleges, or internal SMEs in the design and development of training. Proven presentation and facilitation skills. Experience providing technical training for an organization in start-up mode. Working knowledge of technical training evaluation methods, especially level 2 and hands-on. Working knowledge of technical job aids, Standard Operating Procedures, and/or work instructions. Experience working in a regulated manufacturing industry preferably as a trainer, lead, or supervisor (e.g. Automotive, Aeronautics, Aerospace, Batteries, etc.) Ability to function in a multi-task environment directing the training and technical training components of several projects simultaneously. Must maintain cordial professional relations with colleagues and stakeholders and communicate effectively and efficiently orally and in writing. Must be self-driven to work independently, as well as a part of a team.
