The VA North Texas Health Care System is seeking to fill a Physician (Physiatrist) position. The staff physiatrist routinely performs inpatient and outpatient musculoskeletal and neuromuscular examinations, determines diagnoses, and initiates treatments that emphasize restoration of function. • The Physiatrist (under the guidance and direction of the Chief of PM&R) will oversee and collaborate to ensure that all applicable clinical functions, as assigned by Chief of PM&Rs are completed timely and optimally. Service responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage our TBI/Polytrauma Program. Evaluation and management of general PM&R outpatients, spine clinic and EMGs. Provides cross cover for our inpatient rehab unit while the primary attending physician is leave. Weekend call coverage for CIIRP inpatient unit. PM&R Resident and student teaching Execute clinical and non-clinical assignment efficiently, timely and courteous service to all veterans seeking rehabilitative care, and make clinical notes readily available to the referring practitioners. Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
