The Benefits and Work-life Division (BWD) provides employee benefits advisory and transactional services covering a wide variety of federal benefits, retirement and work life programs such as Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and alternative pension plans for a diverse work force to include employees such as judges, Presidential appointees, and those under Social Security.
- Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as a Supervisor for other Human Resources benefits, retirements, and work life specialists within BWD Communicates assignments, organizations strategic plan, mission, vision and values to the team, coaches team members, and identifies, balances, and distributes workload. Monitors and reports status and progress of work. Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Identifies actual or potential problems, emerging patterns, new developments, and takes advantage of new tools or developments to accomplish the BWD mission. Monitors and analyzes program effectiveness and identifies trends throughout the serviced organizations in terms of meeting Federal and agency goals and objectives. Provides advisory services to managers, supervisors, and employees on employee benefit, retirement and work life programs. Prepares and delivers written reports and oral presentations, e.g., briefings, training sessions, consultations and discussions for leadership, supervisors, customers, and co-workers; may conduct or leads conferences.
