This position is part of the Department of War, War Media Activity (WMA). The incumbent will be responsible for providing policy and procedures for DoW audiovisual and visual information activities and operations such as Combat Camera operations, and for newspapers and like print media throughout DoW such as the European and Pacific Stars and Stripes newspapers.
- As a Training Specialist (DOT AD) at the GS-1712-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Academic Director for the Mass Communication Foundations (MCF) department and is responsible for managing assigned visual information and public affairs training courses. Provides guidance and assists the department head in determining course training requirements, participates in joint task review boards, training planning working groups, and develops and provides input to training standards. Sequences criterion objectives, prepares teaching steps to support criterion objectives; develops training materials and measurement devices; selects appropriate methods of presentation and use of media for maximum learning. Supports course development, prepares and conducts course validation processes, establishes and maintains a data trail for all assigned courses, including course documents that reflect decision-making processes. Ensures total quality in the training environment by continuously evaluating the training provided, course reviews and recommend actions for course improvement. Manages course schedules, manages and ensures course control documents including; training plans, training materials, measurement devices, and ensures course announcements conform to regulations and policies and comply with the basic principles of education. Administers and provides instruction, mentoring and evaluation of student performance to determine achievement of course requirements; manages instructor development program, which leads instructor qualification credentials
