This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Benefits and Work-Life Division (BWD). HRD provides HR support to high-visibility customers, supporting the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) and DoW field activities. BWD delivers advisory and transactional services for benefits, retirements, and injury compensation, while managing the Employee Assistance Program, Telework and Wellness Programs, and Voluntary Giving Campaigns.
- Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Assists other senior specialists, in a variety of HR matters related to employee benefits and retirements. Ensures the timely implementation with employee benefits related policies and procedures. Provides advice and counsel on program related issues such as eligibility, coverage, associated procedures, and related forms to include one-on-one counseling with top level management officials and political appointees. Utilizes a wide range of HR practices, laws, regulations, policies, and precedents sufficient to provide expert HR management advisory.
